The Magueta community is located in Nazareth along the majestic and enigmatic Amazon River, a place where time seems to stand still and everyday life is transformed. Upon entering this corner of the world, one is compelled to rethink their way of life, reconnect with the present, and immerse themselves in a timeless experience. In Magueta, there is no rush or stress; only deep silence, interrupted only by the singing of birds and the buzzing of insects that inhabit the ancient and mysterious trees of the jungle. These trees, silent witnesses to ancestral stories and wisdom, guard magical tales of times past, when our ancestors learned to live in harmony with Mother Earth, respecting her cycle and teachings.
In this sacred place, the voices of our grandfathers and grandmothers still resonate strongly. They, the guardians of tradition, know how to use the medicinal plants that grow in the surrounding area, and their stories continue to be considered sacred, especially those that transmit ancestral wisdom on how to live in balance with nature.
Life in Magueta revolves around traditional activities such as fishing and handicrafts. Throughout the day, the inhabitants recount the legend of the pink dolphin god, one of the region's most emblematic stories, which tells how this celestial being fell in love with the native women of the Amazon. At dawn and dusk, the natives claim that these dolphins, with their characteristic pink color, swim through the Amazon River, filling its waters with shades of gray and pink. It is said that they swim happily alongside their families, as a symbol of the purity and goodness of their souls.

The Diente de León Foundation has come to this magical place to strengthen both internal and external processes of transformation and renewal. Our mission is to work with respect for the spiritual and cultural traditions of the community, sharing knowledge through art and talking circles. One of our main objectives is to address the prevention of all types of violence directed towards women and girls in Magueta, always respecting their views and perspectives.
Through these spaces, we talk about the cycles of women's lives, helping them understand and prepare for the different moments they may go through: marriage, motherhood, or even the decision to take another path in full harmony with their spirit and desires. We join in their rhythms, sharing smiles, hugs, and words of encouragement. We also provide support on issues of food security and on the paths to justice, both within the community and in the ordinary justice system, guiding people to find the support they need for their overall well-being.
We invite everyone to join this collective dream, to contribute with what resonates in their hearts, just as the drum calls from within the jungle. We want to build a more equitable and dignified life for all, no matter how remote the corners of our country, Colombia, may be. Thank you for joining us on this journey of love, wisdom, and hope...
